In keeping with the hospital's core values, the Cath Lab Nurse Manager supervises patient care and directs operational and personnel activities of the Cath Lab/Special Procedures and CVOU Units. The Cath Lab Nurse Manager will be responsible to oversee the daily function of the Lab. The manager will update yearly and verify that appropriate minimum staffing and department goals are achieved as per the Scope to Service and Practice as well as the department specific Strategic Business Plan.

The manager will represent the Cath lab at all Meetings, prepare all budgetary reports, develop all required policies/procedures & protocols, document monthly statistical summaries/variances and act as a liaison between the lab, other departments, hospitals, physicians and their offices. The manager will work with the nurse, senior technologist and educator to assure all staff competencies, evaluations and actions are documented and completed on time. The position reports directly to the Director of the CV Service Line.

Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and critical decision-making skills necessary. Provides guidance to others to improve their clinical, technical, and professional skills. Maintains and fosters a collegial relationship with other service line departments. Aggressively promotes appropriate, cost-effective use of resources. Oversees and ensures effectiveness of staffing plans. Participates in new employee interviews and current employee appraisals. Performs other duties as required or assigned by the Director of Invasive Cardiovascular Services.

Requires two (2) years of Cath Lab experience, previous Nurse Management experience, a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN), and current CPR/BLS certification. Master's degree in Nursing preferred.
