Job Description for the NetApp & NetBackup Systems Engineer :

* Maintain storage hardware and software, including storage subsystems, switches and cabling
* Symantec NetBackup experience required
* Mirroring, Replication
* Storage Monitoring and usage reporting
* Management of LUNS, Disk Volumes Virtual Technology
* Expertise in NetApp implementations and configurations, 
* Experience with NetApp hardware and best practices
* Assist technical teams in the evaluation, design and implementation of future enterprise storage solutions
* System monitoring, Preventive maintenance, Software Installation, Firmware updates, Upgrades, Hardware installation, Provisioning, etc
* Assisting in the development of Replication strategy and managing replication
* Assisting in the development of D2D backups and managing backups
* Storage Availability Health Checks
* Review processes, procedures, Infrastructure and implement best practices
* Change Management and Release Management roles
* Implementation of backup and restore, disaster recovery, storage consolidation, data protection, storage performance, etc.
* Optimization including upgrades, performance monitoring and system audit tasks
* Technical leadership in providing mentoring and guidance to other technical team members
* Ensure data stored on enterprise storage subsystems is adequately protected 
* Provide ongoing maintenance and growth of storage systems by developing and maintaining adequate storage documentation
* Provide first, second and third-level support for all storage-related technologies
* Provide capacity planning for all storage technologies
* Provide project management on assigned projects
* Servers Supported 100+
* Supply problem determination and resolution to all SAN related issues.

Required Skills for the NetApp & NetBackup Systems Engineer 

* Minimum 3 to 5+ years* experience as a SAN Engineer
* 3+ years experience on NetApp / IBM Nseries
* 3 to 5+ years experience with SAN & NAS architectures
* Experience with NetApp, Brocade SAN switches, CISCO SAN switches and configurations, and SAN performance tuning and trending analysis
* Experience implementing and maintaining business continuity and disaster recovery environments
* Experience in complex UNIX environments
* Requires an extensive knowledge of the following:, SAN topologies, SAN hardware, routing, switching, and security
* Experience Designing, Installing, Administering, Upgrading, maintaining Storage Area Network Environments.
* Experience in capacity planning, systems performance analysis and optimization in a distributed client/server environment.
* Experience with System Administration in an UNIX Environment a must
* Experience supporting high-availability production SAN
* Experience in the following areas are a definite plus: 
* Storage Virtualization Technologies
* Storage Management Technologies
* Knowledge of various enterprise operating systems such as Windows, AIX, Linux, and their interaction with storage technologies
* Ability to work independently and provide technical leadership to other team members
* Broad knowledge of various technology architectures and business platforms
* Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks
* Technical problem-solving skills
* Ability to provide 24x7 support
* Strong Interpersonal and communication skills
* Capacity, Performance and Resiliency Management - ensure availability, accessibility and risk management to meet client service level expectations 
* Reduce complexity, manual process and operational risk through automation and efficiency initiatives. 
* Level three escalation - problem management and root cause analysis
* Continuous improvements - ongoing assessment of environment and configurations, perform gap analysis 
* Contribute to re-architecting platform to be managed data driven by policy 
* Write comprehensive documentation and operational runbooks for Operations
* Provide technical and procedural training sessions
