Job Description
Human Resources provides overall strategic HR leadership to the organization. Oversees the development and implementation of human resources policies, programs and services, including recruitment, selection, retention, leadership development, regulatory compliance, employee benefits, employee and labor relations, employment practices and procedures, and employee events. Minimum Eligibility Requirements:  
  1. Bachelor?s Degree in Human Resources, Communications or Business or equivalent experience required
  2. 5+ years human resources generalist experience, PHR or SPHR preferred
  3. Experience in investigating and handling employee claims of harassment, discrimination, and FLSA issues which includes working with outside attorneys and state or federal agencies
  4. Thorough understanding of employee benefit programs and compensation programs
  5. Strong verbal and written communication skills
  6. Experience in providing effective training for adult learners
  7. Proven ability to work effectively with and coach individuals with diverse roles and levels within the organization
  8. Good reasoning ability, sound judgment and balanced perspective
  9. Creative, positive, people and customer-oriented
  10. Proven record for meeting high standards of customer service and customer satisfaction
  11. Multi-state and health care company experience preferred
  12. Must have valid driver license
  13. Must pass criminal background check

Essential Functions:

Employee Relations

  • Provide HR guidance, support and expertise to divisional, regional and community management teams.
  • Ensure equitable treatment of employees/employee advocate
  • Listen to employee concerns, complaints, and issues, communicate with supervisors and managers to provide feedback, resolve issues, and ensure corrective action is taken
  • Investigate and resolve employee complaints and concerns and provide appropriate consultation and intervention when necessary
  • Approve involuntary terminations, exercising care and caution and ensuring that reasons are well documented and are not arbitrary or discriminatory
  • Provide employee morale feedback to VPHR and Operations, indicating suggested corrective action to resolve problem areas
  • Support employee recognition efforts, interview, hiring and on boarding efforts, and turnover reduction efforts at the community, regional and divisional levels
  • Respond to EthicsFirst alerts in a timely manner and follow up on issues as appropriate
  • Resolve employee claims, charges, and litigation matters to positive conclusion in conjunction with HRD, VPHR and outside legal counsel
  • Assist with layoffs and restructuring as needed at the community level
