This is our direct-client opening for an SQA Engineer located in Westlake Village. This is a 6+ month contract role and the rate depends on experience. 

As a key member of the QA team, this individual will be responsible for contributing to qualifying product deliverables in a thorough, methodical, and timely fashion. Responsible for analyzing product requirements to produce test requirements, and the development and execution of functional/system test plans for a multi-tiered environment. 

The right candidate will be intelligent, able to learn quickly, achievement focused, meticulous in detail, flexible and innovative in their approach to tackling varied testing challenges, and will always strive to improve the quality of their work.  This individual will view himself/herself as a true professional in the software QA field.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create test plans, test requirements, test scenarios, and test data for use during the functional and system test phases of the software development process for new and existing applications.

Effectively test web service applications in a proprietary software-testing environment.

Ensure that test plans and scenarios fully exercise every aspect of the product.

Automate test scenarios as appropriate to effectively test applications.

Lead the test effort for assigned projects.

Develop and maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of products, both from a business perspective as well as a technical perspective

Interact directly with the development team. Report and document issues discovered in testing, and follow up for resolution.

Participate in software requirements reviews, design reviews, and change control activities.

Interact with the client, users, and other team members.

Adheres to all policies and procedures concerning all confidential information including but not limited to internal use and restricted information, including Protected Consumer Information (PCI) and Protected Health Information (PHI).

Adheres to all Company Health and Safety policies and procedures.

Administer duties as defined by the performance review plan within the required deadlines.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

Extensive card Payments/Transaction Processing experience is required

5+ years in a hands-on technical software testing role.

3+ years web service testing experience.

RDBMS experience (MS SQL Server and/or Oracle), able to write complex SQL queries.

Good understanding of the fundamentals of multi-tiered architectures.

Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Good understanding of quality assurance processes and testing methodology.

Knowledge of the entire software development process (SDLC).

Self-motivated, requiring minimal oversight.

Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

PREFERRED:

BA/BS. Computer Science or related degree.

1+ years of object-oriented programming experience (.NET experience preferred).
