The eCommerce Payment & Risk Strategy group is responsible for all Payments and Risk Management services necessary to support worldwide eCommerce.  These functions involve such activities as order validation, fraud prevention, e-payment reconciliation and chargeback dispute resolution.  This organization collaborates with all eCommerce functions to ensure comprehensive e-payment offerings, minimal fraud, PCI and Payment Brand compliance, timely bookings, and an optimal customer experience 

Job Description

The Risk Strategy Team is responsible for managing all Fraud Risk Rules and Systems to support Symantec’s global eCommerce. These systems make approval, cancel, and review decisions for all orders processed.   To support this team, we are looking for an experienced  Senior Risk Analyst with excellent analytical skills who will play a significant role in detecting and analyzing trends, maintaining an appropriate balance between risk and control, i.e. minimizing fraud without compromising sales and provide world class customer experience

The Senior Risk Analyst will provide analytics, reporting, business insights and recommendations that enable Risk Strategy to rapidly make strategic, insightful, and informed business decisions.  As a member of the team, you will work cross-functionally within the eCommerce Payment & Risk Team and across the organization to manage losses and enable growth.

As a Senior Risk Analyst, you will:

  • Conduct moderate to complex Risk Analysis, both front-end (fraud prevention) and back-end (chargebacks, reversals, refunds, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain best-in-class Risk Reporting framework
  • Develop and implement policies/strategies to protect our business from losses; present recommendations to Management for approval
  • Analyze and manage the fraud losses per various payment methods, countries/regions and product lines
  • Identify fraud trends and evaluating Strategy performance and effectiveness
  • Provide best practice recommendations for process improvement by applying Operational Excellence principles
  • Maintain and provide detailed reports of retrieval requests, first and second chargebacks, and arbitration casework.
  • Utilize internal systems as appropriate to complete the dispute package requirements imposed by the card associations
  • Provide regular reporting on Chargebacks, Retrieval Requests, Direct Debit reversals (successful re-presentments), chargebacks unsuccessfully represented.
  • Compile regular Executive Management Reporting and Risk Communication
    • Achieve or exceed performance and productivity goals
  • Implement best practice recommendations for Chargeback/Loss reduction
  • Provide management with Strategy recommendations to mitigate fraud losses while ensuring minimal impact to our customer experience and revenue
  • Work closely with Risk Operations to communicate details on Strategy updates and ensure the efficient execution of fraud related work, including recovery efforts
  • Monitor and analyze recovery efforts and make recommendations to minimize net losses
  • Provide policies & guidance for all aspects of Risk Operations back-end requirements, incl. process for Retrieval Requests, Chargeback Disputes, etc. to optimize recovery
  • Involved in delivering various reports to the business on performance and results, as well as analyzing key industry-standard metrics
  • Compile and maintain best-in-class Risk Processes, Procedures and Policy documentation
  • Adhere to card industry standards for timeframes and documentation
  • Manage Risk Systems set-up and management on an ongoing basis
  • Monitor & enhance Fraud Rules performance, add new and amend existing rules
  • Conduct Champion-Challenger tests to maximize Decision Engine performance
  • Manage communication with Risk System providers
  • Manage communications with Risk Operations team and Acquirers in regards to Chargeback Processing / Resolution process
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in Risk Management, preferably in eCommerce and/or Financial Services Industry
  • Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to solve problems independently and with sense of urgency
  • Strong background in mathematics, statistics and modeling
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with aptitude to handle multiple activities in a multitasking environment under deadline pressure
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and ability to work with others
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of projects
  • Excellent MS Office skills, additional analytical tools skills (e.g. SAS) a plus
  • eCommerce Experience is a plus
