Job Description

Our client is one of China's largest developers engaged in the hospitality, tourism & leisure space. In addition to owning over 80 luxury hotels in China, the group has heavily invested in leisure attractions all throughout China. At the end of 2011, the group also signed an agreement worth US$1.6 billion with a major US-based entertainment production company to develop a series of live permanent shows across key cities in China.

The client is now seeking a General Manager (position equivalent in scope of responsibility to that of CEO or MD) to oversee the development and launch of their newest theme park located in a major city in central China. The site has been designed by a renowned entertainment architecture firm in the UK who has previously collaborated with the likes of Universal Studios, Disney and Cirque du Soleil.

This new theme park will predominantly feature mechanical attractions showcasing state-of-the-art technology to heighten the realism of guest experiences (e.g. 6D cinemas, virtual reality etc.).

Construction is well underway at the site, and the initial phase of the park is due to open in Q2 2014.

The ideal candidate should have an extensive track record of excellence with prominent theme park operators, ideally in the Asia-Pacific region. The ability to speak Mandarin Chinese will be highly favored but is not essential to the role. What is essential is a strong background which highlights your forte in startup/launch, operations, financial management, and leadership.

The position is based in China and the client offers an extremely attractive expatriate compensation package.
