The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a scientifically trained professional with strong clinical and/or scientific background. MSLs are expected to facilitate and enhance the development and recognition of our Client products through communicating product and disease state related scientific information to relevant health care stakeholders, Therapeutic Area investigators and institutions.
The MSL facilitates information on research developments, new concepts in medical treatment, the development of investigator-initiated studies and publications and field activities associated with bringing new products to market.
This role will initially focus on the introduction and support of a novel treatment device specific to the Cardiothoracic, and Vascular surgery with additional responsibility to existing product support and development.
The MSL will maintain internal relationships with Medical Affairs, Clinical Research and Development, Science, and Commercial functions associated with marketed and developmental products.
Responsibilities:
Identifies, establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with key customers, investigator and institutions strategic to appropriate product development and use.
Increases Company visibility with current and future industry leaders. Provides a venue for clinical research consistent with company objectives.Develops, and maintains collaborative relationships with current and future industry leaders to identify scientific communication opportunities including abstracts, manuscripts, and professional education.
Manages research and educational activities at targeted institutions and practices with industry leaders and other key decision makers.
Participates in medical education for healthcare professionals through presentations at customer sites, investigator meetings, advisory boards, and other appropriate venues to enhance product knowledge.
Serves as a consultant to internal and external medical directors and provides assistance with program development, guest lectures, symposia formats and scientific workshops.
Maintains clinical expertise through aggressive education including attendance at relevant symposium, scientific workshops, preceptorships, and review of key journals
50-75 % travel is required

Requirements:
Advanced Science or Clinical degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, PA or NP)
Minimum 3 years MSL experience
Qualifications:
Experience in developing/communicating clinical/scientific trials and publications preferred.
Previous experience in Cardiothoracic and/or Vascular medicine, Critical Care or Surgery
Familiarity with compliance regulations/requirements that govern this position, including interactions with sales reps and promotional activities
Demonstrated high quality interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills
