Inpatient population, Adult / Geriatrics; 50% elective orthopedic; 25% med surg medically frail; 25% cardiac medically frail
A Physical Therapist plans and administers medically prescribed or referred physical therapy age specific treatment programs for patients (from infant through geriatric) to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability following disease, injury, surgery or loss of body part. Must document patient care, educate and inform patient and referring physician on outlined plan of care and discharge as guided by patient progress and managed care directives. Maintains a " customer orientation" awareness while interacting with patients, families and other professionals.
Essential Duties:
? Responsible for evaluation, planning, administering and supervising population specific treatments of patients (pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics) referred to Physical Therapy for the purpose of retaining and regaining their highest functional level considering their physical abilities and disabilities. ? Assists in the development and implementation of programs and new services. ? Assists in the development and supervision of support personnel. ? Participates in education of students as Clinical Instructor as assigned. ? Maintains personal and departmental professional competence. ? Maintains a "customer orientation" awareness while interacting with patient, families and other professionals
Credential Requirements:
State Physical Therapist license required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy, or Graduate of an accredited program in Physical Therapy.
Experience Requirements:
1+ years in an acute care facility |
