• Knowledge of floor operations of a 55K square foot facility (on 2 levels)

• Team of 65 STARS and 3 salaried leaders. This is a very diverse group of individuals and many “lifers” in the department.

• Understands uniform, flatwork and dry cleaning operations

• Extensive knowledge of budgets / forecasting

• Knowledge of chemical compounds and mixtures

• Understands consumption rates and reduction possibilities of water, natural gas, electricity etc…

• Keen development ideas for the team

• Understands inventories and ordering of items

• Proficient in computer applications (type does not matter just computer savvy)

• Has a solid linen inspection process

• Large scale hotel laundry experience preferred

• They do uniforms for 3000 employees (and each employee gets 3 uniforms… so that is of course 9000 total).

• They offer Dry Cleaning to all guests for a charge.

• They offer complimentary Dry Cleaning for 300 salaried leaders.

• Must be able to deal with culture and diversity.

• The Laundry Department is not attached to the hotel, but in a separate building connected by a tunnel (essentially across the street).

• MUST be proficient with budgeting, financials and capital. Previous candidates had a lot of the technical experience, but not the financial aspect.

• MUST be familiar with the utilization of chemicals. They use a chemical called “Perc” which is extremely dangerous in a liquid and powder form.

• Their Laundry Equipment is made by “Braun.”

• Their Dry Cleaning Equipment is “San Kosher.”

• MUST be able to develop people.

• MUST be able to have a great working relationship with the Director of Housekeeping.

• Housekeeping is the largest department on property.

• The Laundry Department is responsible for all linen ordering and inventory for the Housekeeping Department.
