Production Support Engineer (closed)
ManpowerGroup/Experis IT is currently looking for a Production Support Engineer to support our client (a prominent banking industry client) onsite in the Jacksonville, FL market.
1 year initial engagement with the possibility of extension. Rates topping out in the $58/hr W2 only range.
Responsibilities/Skills are as follows:
5 - 7 years experience working in a support environment.
Understanding of problem management methodologies
Knowledge/experience of problem management tools
Knowledge of active monitoring tools (Tivoli,) including installation and implementation
Through knowledge in Oracle SQL is a must
Through knowledge in Java/J2EE technologies and unix Shell scripting is required
Ability to communicate well at all levels
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to learn new skills quickly with little supervision
Address Production Support Issues in a timely manner
Work closely with first level support, development teams, infrastructure teams and business to determine strategy & priorities in meeting the business' expectation.
Maintain application availability to business users globally. Drive agenda in areas such as monitoring, failover and resiliency in order to improve availability.
Managing and resolving user reported issues
Effectively communicate issues and status updates with business users, first level support, and development teams
Ensure the stability of the applications by proactively seeking ways of ensuring stability.
Performs controlled resolution of incidents and problems including prioritization and escalation to appropriate development groups when appropriate
