This position will be responsible for quality support for internal project teams, and advanced external supplier development under the umbrella of advanced quality planning. This is a new position with the intent to proactively improve products, processes and suppliers using lessons learned, APQP, six sigma, etc. Candidates should have a proven track record of technical competence, system development, and self motivation. The successful candidate for this position will have a heavy hand in the creation of the scope and depth of this position.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide advanced quality support for electronic (SSL) development projects
- Work with suppliers on advancing their capabilities through the adoption and/or development of tools such as six sigma, APQP, etc. These tools should be used to create new or more robust processes that ultimately improve the quality of the end products
- Act as team member on internal project teams to facilitate the Quality gate and safe launch methodologies.
- Support internal business process improvement teams as necessary.
- Act as site organizer of SPC deployment/training
- Oversee internal calibration department and resources
Requirements:
- BS in Engineering (electrical or power electronics) and 4+ years related experience required
- BS and 5-7 years for Engineer level/ 10+ years related experience for Senior Engineer level
- Extensive working knowledge of power electronic circuitry required, ballasts and/or LED drivers a plus
- Working knowledge of the automotive industry and quality engineering
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment required
- AIAG standards (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans), and TS 16949 (or equivalent) systems strongly desired
- Six Sigma Black Belt/Master Black Belt a strong plus
- Certified auditor and/or gauge control experience a plus
- Regular travel to Electronic development department in Beverly, Massachusetts (as much as 50%) will be necessary
- Flexibility to travel required including; USA, Asia, Europe and Mexico
