Regional Financial Controller APAC (closed)
Location: Singapore, Sydney or HK
Direct Reports: 1 Japan, 1 KL, 1 dotted line report in Japan
Reports to: Vice President Finance Asia Pacific
Our client is a US based IT and connectivity solutions provider with strong presence in the financial services market globally. They have 30+ offices around the world, and are currently looking for a smart, sharp and hands on Financial Controller to join their APAC team.
Responsible to supervise an offshore team and reporting to the VP of Finance
SUMMARY:
- Manage Finance staff across Asia Pacific
- Coordinate the financial close process, compilation of financial reporting, schedule and completion of tax and other compliance across the region
- Communicate with other departments on all areas and issues that have financial impact
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management of Finance team
- Ensure all duties and projects are completed in the required timeframes
- Ensure that the team has the proper training and resources to complete all associated tasks
- Ensure company standards and practices are adhered to
- Ensure all required documentation is completed
Financial Close and Reporting
- Coordinate the financial close process to ensure adequate input from other departments on forecasting, timely completion by staff and review of the consolidation and financial forecast
- Development and compilation of monthly financial reporting to regional management and Corporate Finance
- Review and analysis of balance sheet reconciliations
- Monthly / quarterly analysis of key accounts including Cost of Access, bad debt reserves, commission reserves, tax provision and PP&E
- Provide weekly reports to management detailing financial metrics including order entry, circuit turn-ups and disconnects
Coordination with other departments, Corporate and 3rd party vendors
- Provide analytics to other department managers highlighting financial performance including margin analysis by service type and country
- Serve as point of contact with Corporate on reporting requests, systems issues/implementations and other special projects
- Ensure that tax and other compliance is scheduled and completed in timely manner
- Monitor and review performance of 3rd party accounting firms performing work in countries where they do not have Finance personnel
- Coordinate and schedule all financial and tax audits and reviews
- Coordinate billing arrangements made through 3rd party carrier partners
General Duties
- Conduct regular meetings to provide status and review issues
- Undertake special projects when required such as compilation of new office business cases
- Periodic review of systems and procedures to improve efficiencies
- Work with sales, operations and legal on review of commercial contracts as required
Key Success Criterias':
- Experience in the network business is preferred but not necessary
- Experience with a recurring revenue type business that works across APAC
- Need to roll their sleeves up and perhaps work on the books for KL
- General Ledger / accounts, closing and compliance
- Financial Reporting, working on business cases (forecasting)
- Tax is outsourced but you do need knowledge of GST /VAT returns and formulate tax accruals etc
