Open Die Forge Manager (closed)
This position is responsible for the management and co-ordination of forge shop production activities including planning, scheduling, process engineering, equipment and personnel. Gross profit contribution from the forge department and the ability to use the available assets to grow efficient output measure the success of the incumbent.
Job Duties
Responsible for the direct supervision of forge personnel, Approximately 5 and the activities of production teams; including all manufacturing processes and procedures, as well as the well being of personnel, equipment, buildings and property
Responsible for maintaining delivery commitments and improving product and process non-conformances
Responsible for continuous improvement of forge operations including but not limited to processes, equipment utilization and material yield management
Responsible to assist in the preparation of background information and future projections for the annual operating budget for production and maintenance activities, equipment and building requirements
Recommends staffing levels for production activities and manages human resources in the forge department, including recommendation of hiring and firing, disciplinary actions and performance and wage/salary reviews
Responsible for ensuring the highest level of staff training to support the business plans
Maintain the highest quality of customer relationships, internal and external
Responsible for the safety of production employees
Responsible to ensure all company quality, safety and operating procedures are followed
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of open die forging press operation, with suitable direct supervisory responsibility in a unionized environment if possible.
Demonstrated performance as high-energy team player, with ability to manage people and administer results.
Excellent organizational and decision making skills and capability of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Computer literate and familiar with contemporary software
