Product Development

Duties of this position:

• Developing a high performing product development team capable of rapidly developing products with compelling value propositions
• Providing leadership, vision and direction to team members
• Identifying new product development opportunities to increase market share and enter new market segments
• Managing materials and product testing including interpretation of results
• Investigating manufacturability for new product designs and coordinate prototyping
• Coordinating the new product introduction process in partnership with other departments
• Optimizing cost and performance of existing products
• Conducting failure analysis and preparing reports
• Managing intellectual property for the division including NDA’s, patent maintenance and new patent filing

The desired candidate will have:

• Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in product development and engineering design
• Proven leadership abilities both technically and in cross functional teams
• Strong aptitude for materials research, product design and analysis of test results
• Experience or interest in the design of thermoplastic composites or non-metallic pipes or fittings
• A demonstrated ability to plan and manage development projects in a cross-functional team environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Professional Engineer designation with APEGGA, or eligibility for registration
