Title: Voice Engineer- Cisco
Job Location: New York City, NY
Our customer is seeking a seasoned Voice Engineer working in global networking teams with solid knowledge of Cisco networking and VoIP.
Responsibilities:
- Hands on Voice Engineer for a high performance 24x7x365 global production team which concurrent enterprise project deployment responsibilities.
- Works well with limited supervision and from project plans.
- Should be able to follow direction at a strategic level yet think independently on tactical decisions.
- Manage team tasks against SLA’s as well as work against project plans adhering to project timelines, resource constraints, and within budget.
- Primary support for Cisco Unity, Unity Connection, Unity Express AIM and NM-CUE, Call Manager (Business Edition, Express).
Qualifications:
- 10+ years overall experience in IT
- 5 years in Telecommunications
- 5 years working directly with Cisco Unified Communications
- Prior experience configuring Cisco UCS servers, Cisco data center/enterprise routers/switches, interfacing and setting up new UCS clusters on existing Cisco Call Manager, Gateways, and deploying phones.
- Cisco Unified Communications (Call Manager & Call Manager Business Edition, Unity, Unity Connection, Unity Express AIM and NM-CUE, Call Manager Express, Presence)
- Cisco Routers
- Cisco IOS Voice Gateways and Gatekeeper
- Cisco Catalyst Switches
- Voice, and Video Protocols like H.323, SIP, MGCP, ISDN, QSIG, G.711 G.729, T.30, T.38, H.320, H.263, H.264
- Advanced knowledge of Routing Protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and VPN integrations)
- Cisco Wireless Access Points and Wireless LAN Controllers
- Deep knowledge of Nortel TDM and Nortel to Cisco VoIP migrations and SLA-based Cisco Unified Communications support.
- CCIE with Voice preferred or a CCVP
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college
- Avaya or Nortel PBX experience is a plus
- E911 deployment experience is a plus
