Software Developer III

Position Description:
Working under the supervision of a Tech Lead, the Engineer will be part of a small team that is responsible for the design and implementation of numerous tools for a group within System Administration for Operations. Some examples of work will be to quickly design and implement Python Django web applications doing both front-end and back-end work. The back-end work will be using Python 2.6 while the front-end work will be Django templates, JQuery 1.8 UI and CSS. There may also be Python web service development in either SOAP or REST.

The position is a full-time (40 hours per week)

9+ month contract position.

Responsibilities:
* Install, maintain, support various 3rd party tools. (Django, JQuery, Nose, python modules, MySQL, etc)
* Design/implement tools (backend and frontend) for both Systems Administrators (SA) and internal customers.
* Automating SA tasks, and streamlining maintenance workflows for either Linux, SunOS and Windows.
* Develop dashboards, alerts and system monitors.

Required:
* Strong automation and tool building experience.
* Python (2.x) +3 years
* OO design, interface design and code modularity
* windows and linux administration

* web services implementation

* version control systems
* automated testing and testing frameworks (test driven design)
