Job Description

No Visa's. No sleep. Practice Description: Primary care adult internal medicine in a community of 50,000 with a county service area of 165,000. Strong internal medicine tradition. Joining practice of existing pulmonary critical care specialist. This opportunity involves a mixed practice (approximately 50/50) of office-based and hospital ICU pulmonary/critical care. Training: University internal medicine and pulmonary - critical care program. Caseload Averages: ICU/CCU Summer 8-10 per day. 15-20 Winter per day. Clinic/Office: 15-20 per day consults, returns, PFT?s, Bronch?s. Office & ICU/CCU Call Rotation: 1:3 for Pulmonology/Critical Care. Week One: Pulm/CC coverage @Hospital M-F 7am-7pm and 24 hours Sat and Sun (call ends at 7am Mon morning). Every 3rd weekend. Week Two: Pulm/CC coverage @ Hospital M-F 7pm-7am (call begins at 7pm on Mon. evening and ends at 7am on Sat morning; no week-end responsibility). Week Three: Office M-Th 8am-5pm and F 8am-12pm (no inpatient/week-end responsibility). Salary Range: $250,000- $275,000 (depending on experience). Additional $30,000 signing bonus. Earnings potential of $350,000 to $450,000 with partnership Membership/Partnership: Within 1 to 2 years. Offers additional income sources from clinic ancillary pool and Building LLC profits. Reimbursement Environment: No managed care contracts, excellent fee for service reimbursement (well above Medicare) from all commercial and PPO insurance companies. Residency/ Fellowship preferences: BE/BC - Completion of internal medicine and pulmonary critical care residency expected to be board certified at time of hire or within three years of hire. Number of existing physicians in specialty: 2 Pulmonologist/Critical Care currently. 1 Pulmonologist/Critical Care retiring in Dec 2010. Description of Practice environment (number of patient rooms, staff compliment, equipment available): Two-exam rooms plus private office; one RN or LPN and share a medical assistant and receptionist/secretary with two other primary care internal medicine physicians in a ?pod? arrangement. Description of Hospital environment (as it applies to your specialty): Modern, financially strong, full service single community hospital. Closed 28 bed ICU as directed by PULM/CC. Hospital stipend for Medical Director shared by Pulm/CC physicians. Hospital located less than 1 mile from Clinic. Good working relationships with hospital administration and medical staff in our community.
