Job Description
Scope of Work/Description:
In this Business Analyst role, you will focus on long-term strategy formation and relationship building with various clients. As a result, you may be involved in a number of small to large sized projects over the course of your contract. Some of this project focus will be in such areas as Field Solutions (e.g. Aviation, Travel, Vehicles); Building & Office Services (e.g. Facilities, Real Estate, Leasing); Meetings and Events. In addition to these areas, the BA may also work in conjunction with the ITSM program to facilitate the evaluation and potential adoption of modules and/or workflows within Service-Now.com (when they impact areas within Admin Solutions).
Skills and Qualifications
Years Experience/Where Used/Comments/etc.
A Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field(s) is preferred
7+ years experience working as a Business Analyst within IT and/or business on projects of various sizes and complexities
Proven IS technical competency - to the extent of being able to assist in interpreting and implementing new business functionality
IIBA Certification (CBAP) preferred (as well as current IIBA member)
Experience with business process reengineering
Good understanding of release management process and procedures
Current with business best practice methods, IT technology trends and can correlate potential impacts that technology may have on the business
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), MS Project and Visio
Some prior experience working with a Project Management Office as well as alongside an Admin Services/HR area would be very beneficial
Some prior requirements gathering experience with groups based in remote locations would be beneficial
It would be beneficial if you have exposure/experience with either of the following types of software: a) Events - Starcite, CEvent; b) Travel ? PFM; c) Facilities - FM:Space, Manhattan
Some prior experience working with remote clients would be beneficial
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with business and IS personnel, as well as vendors
Solid analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
Process orientated with the ability to discuss, advise, coordinate and document processes with people from varying disciplines
Exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to solve problems and balance varying needs
Well developed team skills with a collaborative work style
Strong organizational skills in prioritizing and keeping track of the numerous initiatives underway
