Job Description

We are assisting our San Antonio client in recruiting a talented Lead Auditor. You will be responsible for leading audits of a more complex nature and providing guidance and support to other team members.

In this role you will: * Conduct internal financial, operational and integrated audits and related risk assessments * Provide expertise in auditing standards, performance criteria, and audit requirements * Complete assigned audits per the audit plan, interact with business owners to coordinate the audit and communicate findings and recommendations to business owners * Recommend improvements to processes and controls based on risk assessment and process evaluation * Develop formal, written reports to communicate audit recommendations to management and the Audit Committee * Facilitate the work of external auditors during on-site visits This position requires advanced audit knowledge, excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of SOX/internal controls testing, finance and accounting operations. You will also be responsible for planning and performing risk assessments to determine the objectives and scope of each assigned audit and develop audit programs. You may oversee daily audit activities of other auditors including reviewing work papers prepared by team members and aiding in the formal development of individual team members through coaching and continuous feedback.

Must Have: * A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in accounting, information technology, or qualified discipline * Typically requires 5+ years of related audit experience * Must be a 'seasoned', experienced professional with a full understanding of industry best practices and process improvement concepts * Should have achieved or is working towards professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, CISA, and CFE * Candidates should have apparent management potential * Advanced knowledge in audit testing, documentation techniques, and business processes * Ability to work with all levels of management and senior officers of the company * Ability to manage and provide coaching to others * Ability to adapt communication to the audience to ensure that technical and business risks are clearly understood * Ability to make appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions * Ability to apply varying leadership skills and traits that create solutions and results to unexpected situations * Ability to successfully work and promote inclusiveness in small groups * Ability to travel domestically and internationally - up to 25%
