The Business Data Analyst (BDA) works closely with the data warehouse development team to ensure user requirements and issues are being addressed while controlling scope. The BDA has to have a thorough understanding of ETL processing methods, underlying data warehouse data models, security, and capabilities of the front-end delivery products.

The BDA will identify source systems and the data required in the data warehouse environment to meet the users’ current and potentially future needs.  They will lead the preparation of data warehouse requirements documentation, and perform data mapping tasks.

Required Skills: 

*Ability to create and communicate business and technical/functional requirements at a detailed level including specific table and field level transformation rules. 

*Advanced knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Access. 

*Advanced knowledge of and ability to use SQL query tools (such as Crystal Reports or similar applications). 

*Ability to work with a project team (data architect, developers, other analysts, and end users).

*Ability to communicate both business and detailed technical requirements to a variety of users.

*Ability to analyze an existing process to validate if it is meeting the current business needs and/or document enhancements including technical requirements. 

*Ability to work in different phases of systems and business analysis and considers the business implications of the application of technology and process changes to the current
