Concurrently collaborates extensively with physicians, nursing staff, case managers, and other health care providers to improve the quality and completeness of documentation in the medical record.  This will enhance the commensurate reimbursement of clinical severity of illness, risk of mortality, coding accuracy and DRG accuracy.  This position works toward the support of timely completion of the medical record in order to facilitate a clear documentation picture for measuring and reporting physician and facility outcomes by the patient’s discharge date.  Concurrently educates all members of the patient care team on complete, timely and accurate documentation on an ongoing basis.

Minimum Qualifications:     

1. Associate’s Degree in related field required, Bachelor’s preferred.
2. RHIT, RHIA, or RN with inpatient coding experience preferred.
3. Minimum of three years of clinical experience in an acute hospital setting.
4. Previous coding documentation experience preferred.
