The Opportunity
The accelerating maturation of our industry brings exciting opportunities to partner with federal and state governments, major lending institutions, and consumers as they redefine standards for lending, credit, and financial health. Encore’s Consumer Marketing team is responsible for understanding our complex landscape and within that context, defining, establishing, and implementing strategies that improve the overall customer experience across our global organization.
To support our goals in this area, we are seeking a Senior Marketing Manager who will hold P&L responsibility for the company’s Direct Mail channel. He/she will be responsible for driving an effective and efficient direct mail strategy, and providing ongoing improvement through new concept testing, refined targeting, and algorithmic adjustments, and process streamlining. The Senior Marketing Manager will partner with our Decision Science, Operation, and Technology organizations to leverage customer information such as transactional and behavioral data, demographic and attitudinal overlays, and qualitative and quantitative research to make business decisions regarding the company’s direct mail and contact data investments.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role on the Consumer Marketing team that creates and manages our global marketing strategies, and is constantly testing and researching new ideas. We take the recovery business very seriously and have a commitment to our customers to show them a path to recovery. The Senior Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Marketing, and is accountable for managing and developing 1-2 direct reports. This position is located in our corporate office in San Diego, California.
Primary responsibilities include:
Develop customer and offer segmentation strategies to increase lifetime value
Optimize pricing and product offers through testing and implementation
Create content and marketing message strategy
A/B and multivariate test design, execution and application of insights
Partner closely with analytics team, operations, technology and senior leadership
Negotiate with external partners including creative agencies and fulfillment vendors
Required skills, education, and experience:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Marketing, Marketing Science, Business, or Economics
5 years of progressive experience in analytical direct marketing
Proven P&L experience
Strong knowledge of customer segmentation techniques and customer management/direct marketing
Exceptional analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
Demonstrated ability to partner with, and influence, executives, peers and subordinates
Driven self-starter with positive outlook, flexible nature, and tenacious work style that will fit well within Encore’s growth environment
Creative thinker; able to develop unique methods of analysis where traditional methods do not yield results
Strong understanding of customer survey techniques and converting survey results into actionable insights
