Summary:

Applicant must have food process experience. Two years minimum experience as Project Manager with a proven track record. This should include experience in operations common to experience in the food processing industry. Candidate should have familiarity with food processing equipment, materials handling throughout the process, sanitary design for processes and GMP facilities, relevant environmental systems, utility systems, and field support for all phases of project execution (scoping to commissioning).The candidate should also have proficiency in Microsoft products including MS Project. The candidate should have good communication skills. PE license would be preferred.

Primary responsibilities to include project engineering & management, process and facility engineering, man-hour and design cost estimating and scheduling), ISO system compliance for all assignments. Direct responsibility for executing projects with regard to scope, schedule and budget. Candidate will work closely with client personnel on site and at corporate headquarters in Battle Creek on a regular basis for project definition, development, estimating, and support.

Must be able to work well with groups and multiple offices including off-shore resources. Good communication skills (written and verbal) are critical. Must be a self-starter committed to delivery of quality products and building long term profitable relationships internally and externally. Some travel is required.
OSHA 10/30 hour Construction Certificate preferred. (Incumbent must be OSHA Construction Certified.

 

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Project engineering and management.
  • Process and facility engineering.
  • Business development including proposal preparation and presentation.
  • Estimate and schedule man-hour and design costs.
  • Ensure all assignments meet ISO system compliance.
  • Execute projects efficiently with regard to scope, schedule and budget.
  • Work closely with client personnel on a regular basis for project definition, development, estimating and local project support.
 

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Strong familiarity with food processing equipment and materials handling through-out the process.
  • Knowledge of sanitary design for processes and GMP facilities.
  • Familiarity with relevant environmental systems, utility systems and field support for all phases of project execution (scoping to commissioning).
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including MS Project.
  • Must be able to work well in groups across multiple offices.
  • Strong Communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated self-start committed to the delivery of quality products and building long term profitable relationships internally and externally.
  • Some travel is Required.
