A client of Robert Half Technology is looking for a full-time Java-based Web Application Programmer. The client is a leader in development and administration of efficient internet-based assessment and certification tools. This Web 2.0 shop is growing fast. We are looking for a polished developer with 1+ years of experience, specifically within the front-end experience. Duties and Responsibilities

Programming (80%): The resource will debug and code existing and new Java, JavaScript and other web business applications. This position will build new system capabilities, enhance existing systems by adding functionality and gaining efficiencies, and conduct unit and system testing to ensure code functionality.

System Design (10%): Designing of system components, including: working with content domain experts and Lead Developer to conceptualize design elements; using design tools, like VISIO or Rational Rose, to document detailed design of the system; using signature class skeletons, entity diagrams, and object models to design and develop systems. This person will also explore approaches and evaluate the viability of integrating 4ROIs system with other business systems.

Technical Support (10%): Ensuring that the system is functional for on-going web users. Provide technical support to end users. Support the implementation of projects. Working with users to understand how the system needs to be fixed or can be enhanced.

 
Qualifications

Education
-Computer science related degree, or active pursuit of same, preferred.

Suitable candidates have:
-More than one year of solid Java experience, at least one year using Java on a sizable project.
-Experience documenting system design
-Developed business applications using Java
-A minimum of one year of object oriented programming experience
