6+ month contract positions for rotorcraft manufacturer headquartered in Hurst, Texas, near Fort Worth.
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, determines from drawings the most efficient and expedient method of fabricating parts and assemblies related to the required rate of production; writes operation sheets, specifying sequence of manufacture in relation to process treatment and finish, for the most difficult assemblies and fabrications; orders all the necessary special tooling, specifies on tool orders, the necessary steps to follow in the manufacture of such tools including relationship to coordinating tools and gages; collaborates with Tool Design to properly coordinate design of tools with other parts and provide necessary information for the design.
Investigates drawing changes, and makes necessary changes in operation sheets, tool orders, etc., and issues necessary paper work to make the changes. Incumbent must possess wide aircraft manufacturing knowledge.
Coordinate with Shop Supervision and Engineering on correct methods and procedures and assist them in solving manufacturing problems.
Maintains records and schedules of work assigned; supervises and instructs lower class Engineers. Duties may involve miscellaneous functions such as analyzing, investigating and preparing facility studies relative to plant areas, man-hours, machinery and equipment cost, and recommending proper machines to be purchased; reviewing work to be subcontracted and advising and assisting sub-contractors on Production Engineering and Manufacturing problems.
May be required to check other Planners work for conformity to procedures and policies.
