Job Description
AMEC’s Power & Process business currently has an exciting opportunity available for Senior Electrical Engineer - Substations and Transmission and Distribution (T&D) in our Minneapolis office. Responsibilities:
- Designing electrical substations of 12 to 500kV
- Developing one line, three line, sections and schematic diagrams for major substation equipments, bus work, HV structures, associated hardware, switches, grounding, controls and metering.
- Designing grounding grid for the station, lightning protection, station services layouts and lighting layouts.

Preparing and reviewing dwg list(s), engineering documents, specifications and inspection and testing procedures.

Writing and planning project scope, proposals, estimates, and budgets.

Reviewing of vendor documents against material ordered.

Consolidating bill of materials for all station equipment and hardware as well as ordering materials.

Providing construction support and overall project coordination and scheduling including outages.

Coordinating with installation and commissioning activities with the utility and subcontractors.

Responding to information requests from site and complete project documentation including as-builts, calculations and returning data to the clilent.

Enhancing and maintaining relationships with internal groups and external contractors and clients.

Traveling and visiting client sites during project definition and execution.

Leading projects form conception through construction, including mentoring junior engineers and designers.
Qualifications:
- Electrical Engineering Degree from an accredited university and a Professional Engineering Designation or the ability to register as a Professional Engineer.
- Minimum 10 years’ of electrical engineering experience in a T&D utility or EPC organization designing substations.
