Job Description

One of our major clients in the healthcare sector is currently looking for a Java Developer with HL7 for a 12 month term position that will likely get extended.

 

Description of Position

The Senior Systems Analyst will be responsible for the design and development of new interfaces. You will work with the other members of the interface team using the Java based JavaCAPS 6.2 Integration Engine (Repository Mode) to integrate the interfaces to or from the hospital systems, using in-house standards.
 
Key activities include the preparation of interface specifications, development of the interface using Java and HL7 Standards, extensive testing and detail documentation of the interface as well as to provide support of the interface.
 
You will be required to participate in problem resolution with the team members and other IS personnel while working closely with other support structures (helpdesk, operations etc.) to ensure correct resolution of user issues.

 

Qualifications & Skills

 

  • As the successful candidate, you possess a Bachelor in Computer Science or equivalent experience along with a minimum of 5 years Java experience.
  • Strong experience with J2EE Java will be required. Preference will be for knowledge of JavaCAPS 6.x products and HL7 standards 2.2, 2.3, 3.1, in order to map data stream to foreign domains, are necessary
  • Knowledge and experience in the development and testing of interfaces using interface engines will be considered a strong asset. As is experience in a healthcare environment.
  • You should be detail oriented, possess excellent inter-personal skills, good problem solving skills, resilience and creativity. Experience in project management methods and knowledge of software life cycles would be an asset. You should have the ability to work independently and juggle multiple competing tasks, manage and execute routine operational activities, translate computer terms in to lay terms and vice versa, coordinate between multiple groups and work in a team environment when the need arises.
