Pre-Sales Engineer / Solution Architect for a Financial Services Solution Provider
The candidate must be a seasoned technical sales engineer with knowledge and experience to be the primary technical resource for the New Business Development and Sales Teams in the field. The pre-sales engineer must have competency, knowledge, and a thorough understanding in the alternative investment industry to deliver quality service and expectations. The candidate must have the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and communicate effectively to manage multiple engagements, business priorities, and goals in an efficient manner. The individual must be comfortable engaging/selling technology products and services to head traders, CTO’s/CIO’s, and business managers along with the sales team. Knowledge of the financial services trading and settlement market is required. Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in software sales and knowledge of technology. Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base. Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, RFPs, and when submitting reports. Organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches.
Responsibilities:
Engaging in Pre-Sales Calls/Meetings with the sales teams as a technical resource for client requirements and needs
Responsible for creating estimates and proposals with coordination from the sales and implementation teams
Required to present technical portions of proposals with sales team during proposal life cycle
Responsible for development and delivery of product demonstrations to existing and potential clients
Able to respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs
Able to travel throughout sales territory
Able to originate new technical business with existing clients’ environments as needed
Able to communicate effectively across all business lines
Capable of relationship management with vendors, clients, and third parties
Able to implement improved metrics, reports, and technical sales techniques for the sales force
Required to perform facilities site surveys, audits, and assessment for new business (Company/Office Build-out, Office Relocation, and Infrastructure Upgrades just to name a few)
Must be exceptionally proficient in Microsoft Office, Visio, and Sales Tools
Required Expertise: Technical
Five to ten years of IT Knowledge in Networking, Systems, and Facilities is required; Software Development is a plus. Required “Basic functionality” knowledge of some technology are: Windows Servers, Windows Workstations, VMWare, Exchange + Blackberry, Active Directory, SQL, Replication, Market Vendors, Telco and ISP Circuits, Basic Networking Concepts (routing, switching, firewalls), VPN, Redundancy, Disaster Recovery, Power and HVAC/Cooling.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, and strong references
