Job Description

SUMMARY
Provides liaison with suppliers to assure the quality and reliability of purchased materials.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Checks suppliers' work and progress to ensure conformance to specifications

Plans, performs, and reports results of evaluations of operating practices in production, inspection, and supporting departments

Evaluates accuracy and verifies implementation of reported corrective actions

Maintains appropriate records, initiates various inputs for management summaries, and assures that survey history documentation is complete and maintained to meet applicable requirements

Performs special evaluations, audits, and appraisals as required

Prepares reports and makes recommendations as appropriate

May perform other duties as required

Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established ES&H requirements to ensure the protection of associates, the public, and the environment

Takes actions necessary to "stop" work when an unsafe condition or action is identified

Every associate has the right and responsibility to stop work when unsafe conditions or actions are identified
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- US Citizenship (Capable of obtaining and maintaining a government security clearance)

Associate's degree in a technical or business field
-
Minimum three (3) years of inspection, quality activities or related technical work
-
Ability and willingness to travel 90%
NOTE: Qualified candidates may be required to complete an evaluative assessment of their ability to perform relevant functions of the position
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office products

Thorough knowledge of and the ability to interpret engineering and quality specifications and drawing requirements to suppliers

Professional certification in a recognized Quality organization, e.g., ASQ

AWS Weld Inspection Certification
-
Experience conducting audits / assessment at vendor/supplier locations

Experience inspecting products at a vendor/supplier locations
-
Experience using measuring instruments; calipers, micrometers, comparators, gages, etc

Experience evaluating performance of electrical / electronic circuitry and assemblies

Experience evaluating characteristics of solder joints in electrical assemblies
-
Experience performing electrical testing using a variety of complex test equipment and open setup test equipment; e.g. multimeter, signal generator, power supplies, oscilloscope, megaohmeter, etc

Ability to build professional relationships with suppliers while maintaining necessary objectivity to perform verifications
