Job Description

Our Client is a leading gold exploration and development company advancing a new project  into production. Additionally, they continues to explore key projects in both Canada and the United States to build on on their current global mineral inventory of 7.7 million gold ounces. Due to current growth they are currently looking for a:

Engineering Manager Corporate

The Engineering Manager works out of the Corporate location in Vancouver and provides Technical Support to the Engineering teams at the 2 mines sites and the variuos exploration projects that are ongoing.The Engineering Manager is responsible  for but not limited to:
Taking active approach in ensuring the health and safety of all  employees in accordance with all regulatory agencies as well as the policies, procedures and goals .

Providing support to teams to achieve optimization of shovel/truck fleets, equipment selection as well as simulation and cost modeling.


Coordinating business planning process including life of mine plans and budgeting.

Responsibility for mineral resource/ore reserve calculations and reporting.
Responsibilities Include:

Manage day to day planning activities taking into account monthly, yearly and longterm production plans and capital projects.

Determine and evaluate resources and resource scheduling in order to meet present and future targets.

Direct, coordinate and integrate all technical engineering functions including the production of reports, drawings, estimates and make recommendations taking into account safety, recognized practices, cost control and compliance with regulations

Coordinate, prepare and submit working cost and capital budgets.

Continually strive for improvement in current operational efficiencies and mining strategies and support and guide the Engineering team.

Requirements

Professional Engineering Designation (P Eng )

Minimum of 10 (Ten) years of directly related practical and supervisory experience in the Open Pit Mining sector

Knowledge and understanding of various acts as they pertains to Mining.


Strong Leadership, communication and time management skills are essential, demonstrated leadership and teambuilding skills.

Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with various individuals, crews, departments and organizational levels. This includes report writing and formal presentations.
Excellent planning, time organization and problem solving skills.

This is a role that is based at Corporate Head Office but requires some travel in both Canada and the US as needed.
