Generation Interconnection Project Manager Overview
This is a project management position reporting to the Supervisor for Generation Interconnection Services. This position is responsible for assuring interconnection deliverables for multiple assigned projects from customer-developers interconnecting renewable power generation into our company's electric grid.
Success as a GIS PM is characterized by demonstrated proficiency in developing, coordinating, documenting, and executing on a wide range of detailed project plans leading to deployable generation projects consistent with compliance, technical, operational, and safe interconnection to the electric grid. The GIS PM will be responsible for developing an understanding of the producer/developers project requirements, operating channels and interconnection processes for each, and leading a cross functional team of subject matter experts (SME) to drive inter-and intra-company resources to project completion including post-deployment documentation, testing, and customer satisfaction follow-up. Roles and ResponsibilitiesGeneration Interconnection Project Management: Lead cross-functional team through a project development process. Conduct interconnection identification, option analysis, and needs assessment. Identify potential solutions, process improvements, and cost savings opportunities. Lead development and recommendation activities including qualitative and quantitative analysis. Stakeholder Management: Develop and sustain strategic relationships with technical, product, operations, and vendor stakeholders. Develop project milestones and performance data with key project owners. Address and resolve escalated issues. Work with stakeholders to complete interconnection, manage contracts and agreements, and to ensure customer-developer satisfaction. Customer and Management Focus: Maintain a customer focus through communication and understanding of Generation Interconnection program needs. Work with network and interconnection subject matter specialists, Legal, Land, Regulatory, and contract management leads to keep interconnection projects on track and on-budget. Monitor and maximize internal and external customer satisfaction with GIS project management skills, practices, and deliverables. Successful candidates must complete a comprehensive ninety-day development program with a final assessment demonstrating a working knowledge of interconnection tariffs, GIS processes, and progress in active interconnection project management.
