Job Description :

The position of Sr. Microstrategy Consultant is for an IT professional that has 5+ years experience in the design and development and implementation of reports and project design with Microstrategy. The applicant should also have an in-depth knowledge of relational data bases such as Oracle, OLAP and data access/front-end tools such as Oracle (PL SQL), Access, Excel VBA and Crystal. The position will interact with the business users to understand the needs for analytical applications and reports, and define detailed solutions to developing/maintaining the front-end applications. Because business reporting and data analysis requires a general understanding of business systems, the applicant will need to have good familiarity with a number of key business applications: • Supply Chain – Order Entry, Purchasing, Inventory, Cost • Production Control – Recipes, Work Orders As part of the specification and documentation process, the applicant will need excellent written and verbal skills and should be able to write documentation for both business users and technical IT use.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Develop/Maintain the front-end repository including Metrics, Filters, Views and dimensions 2. Development and programming of reports and front-end data access programs based on functional designs or equivalents. 3. Development of stored procedures and views used in report development and front-end data access applications. 4. Install and maintain front-end and reporting tools. 5. Supporting users in problem resolution 6. Upgrading products and applying patches as necessary 7. Maintaining and modifying reports/queries as necessary 8. Troubleshooting operational/data issues 9. Managing and supporting the technical documentation 10. Testing changes/modification 11. Providing assistance to other technical areas as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: 1. 5+ years Hands-on experience with the following MicroStrategy components: Architect Desktop, Schema Objects, MicroStrategy Administrator, OLAP Services, BI Developer Kit, Intelligence Server, Object manager, Narrowcast Server, Report Services and Web, Dashboard and Mobile - MUST 2. Experience with Microstrategy - Report development and project design: Facts, Attributes, Hierarchies, Aggregation, etc. - MUST 3. Experience in configuring, governing, trouble shooting and tuning Intelligence Server, Web Server and NarrowCast Server is a MUST. 4. The candidate must also have experience on MicroStrategy Security Administration with exposure to administering large number of users development – MUST 6. Good understanding of relational structures, dimensional data modeling, Structured Query Language (SQL) skills, Data Warehouse and reporting techniques. – MUST 7. 5+ years experience using SQL with a relational DBMS such as Oracle or MS SQL Server. 8. In depth experience with client server applications and architectures – MUST 9. Experience working with the full life cycle development process, which includes analysis, design, construction, and testing - MUST 10. MicroStrategy Certification – PREFERRED 11. Experience with the Web/ASP/HTML programming language a - PLUS. 12. Proficiency with the Windows NT Server a MUST and UNIX (Sun Solaris) operating systems a PLUS 13. Excellent Written and Verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with senior business and technical IT management – MUST 14. Strong Analytical and problem solving abilities – MUST 15. General experience with business applications in the areas of supply chain management and production control – PREFERRED 16. Bachelor’s Degree. (Computer Science preferred).
