St Peters in Helena- MT is seeking a contractor to cover the OB Surgical Tech role.

36 hrs/week- shifts can vary between days and nights.

13 weeks


Here's the job description:

JOB SUMMARY(overview of job): Performs duties in all areas of the Women & Children's Unit. Assists surgeon during operative and invasive procedures. Ensures operating suite is adequately prepared for procedure. Monitor par level of all surgical instruments and supplies. Cleans and sterilizes all surgical instruments. Assists medical staff and nurses in vaginal deliveries including setting up instruments- equipment and supplies- and cleaning equipment and instruments. Performs nursing assistant duties including obtaining vital signs- height and weight measurements- assist patients with feeding- and other activities of daily living. Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Sufficient experience to demonstrate ability to accept responsibilities. Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in the Operating Room is preferred.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED preferred. Post high school education and/or certification in a healthcare related field is preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: Operating Room Technician Certification is preferred. Current BCLS Certification is required.

Aptitudes: Ability to achieve cognitive- organization and emotional maturity to deal effectively with multiple tasks- stresses- deadlines- difficult situations and/or customers. Possesses interpersonal/communication skills necessary for effective- non-judgmental- and empathetic patient care and customer relations.
