Job Description: In support of the Navy Personnel Command in Millington, TN. This position is responsible for performing maintenance to existing enterprise applications, including testing and updating documentation. In addition the candidate will be helping to set direction for future technology upgrades to the existing database structure. Candidate will interface with end-users, system engineers and websphere administrators on a daily basis so interpersonal skills are a must. Candidate will work individually, as a member of a team, and lead small teams to collaboratively design and model systems at a high level prior to construction. Candidate is expected to have the analysis skills/chops to solve problems before they happen.

Qualifications:

Position requires a candidate to currently possess a security clearance or have a clean background that will enable SAIC to obtain a Secret security clearance for them. Inability to possess/maintain a security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position. Position also requires background verifications, which may consist of education, employment, credit, criminal and driving records, depending on nature of position. Favorable results are required prior to for employment.

Education: Candidate must have a bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience, or an Associate's degree and 9+ years of experience DB2 v8 and/or v9.

Professional Certifications: A candidate must possess, a professional computing environment certifications. Typically accepted computing environment certifications include the following: Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Database Administrator - or other applicable cert.

Candidate must also, within 6 months of the date of hire, obtain a security certification. Typical certifications include the following: - CISA (Certified Information System Auditor) , GSE (GIAC Security Essentials) or Security+

Basic Qualifications: 9+ years experience as a DBA, - Proven experience in maintaining databases in a virtual server environment. Experience in creating and modifying stored procedures, functions and triggers. Experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting access issues and poorly performing SQL. Experience in creating and maintaining range-partitioned tables. AIX Operating System.

The ideal candidate must have demonstrated in-depth knowledge of backup and recovery methods, HADR and very strong scripting capabilities in both KSH and Perl. Understanding of SSH would be helpful.
