 Interior Designer – Window Covering/Carpet Sales (Vancouver/Port Coquitlam/Richmond/Abbotsford/Surrey)

Position Overview

Custom Decorators, Inc. has an opportunity for an experienced Interior Designer/In-Home Sales Consultant

  • Receive qualified leads from retail partners
  • Schedule your own appointments
  • Utilize your design and sales expertise during the consultation
  • Close the sale and submit your order!
  • Custom Decorators provides direct support for ordering, client services, delivery and installation

Carpet Design Abilities

  • Carpet measuring skills required
  • A detailed knowledge of premium carpet is preferred
  • Ability to visualize a finished project and convey the outcome to the client
  • Ability to provide exceptional design services within a client's defined budget

Window Covering Design Abilities

  • Measuring skills required for Hunter Douglas window coverings
  • Detailed product knowledge of Hunter Douglas window coverings preferred
  • Experience with drapery products preferred
  • Ability to visualize a finished project and convey the outcome to the client
  • Ability to provide exceptional design services within a client's defined budget

Sales Technique and Experience

  • Must possess strong residential sales experience
  • Must  be self motivated, goal oriented and possess a strong desire to excel in a challenging and competitive environment
  • Must understand the concepts to sell our premium product lines
  • Ability to represent our unique retail channel partners and their expectations. Channels include:  Leaders in wholesale, home improvement and high-end retailing
  • Ability to build a strong client base to generate additional leads
  • Desire to build your own business while affiliated with Custom Decorators Inc.
  • Must possess basic computing skills including Word, Email usage and Internet searching techniques

Client Service and Relationship Management

  • Willing to overcome obstacles and provide outstanding client services
  • Exemplifies professional standards in appearance, communication and delivery from the first impression
  • Collaborates with internal departments and installers to manage client relationships and results
  • Leaves positive and lasting impressions with continued follow up after the installation is complete
  • Possesses strong organizational skills to contact leads, schedule appointments and complete client orders

Compensation and Working Conditions

  • Commissions and special promotional incentives (spiffs)
  • Mileage reimbursement for travel outside normal service areas
  • Independent contractor status to enhance your own business and exercise your own proven sales and design expertise
  • Travel between client homes, partner retailer locations and home office
  • We provide on-boarding, webinars and support from our vendors – Shaw, Mohawk,  and Godfrey Hirst
  • Annual Sales/Design Convention – to meet other designers and vendors
