Job Description

  Title: Virtualization Specialist

Overview:

Do you have an entrepreneurial spirit? Do you want to make an impact in a high energy, fast paced environment? Our client, one of the fasted growing companies in the Cloud Computing space is looking for a Virtualization Specialist who will be responsible for implementation of virtualization products and systems including networking, servers and operating systems.

 

Things you need to have:

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role

Bachelor’s degree (Master preferred) in Computer Science/Information Technology or related field or equivalent education/experience

A significant recent working history of software product installation, customization, testing, software

maintenance, and problem diagnosis is also required

Experience with storage technologies (SAN) and solutions at an enterprise level for IT solutions.

Knowledge of networking and security technologies and products

Proven experience troubleshooting virtualized computing environments as well as those servers

running a Windows or Linux operating system

 

It would be great if you also had:

VMWare and/or Citrix certified professional is a definite advantage

 

What you will be doing:

Perform software product installation, configuration management, maintenance, testing and documentation of VMware, Citrix and Microsoft related products

Install virtualization solutions for our clients using ESXi, Xen and Hyper-V

Ensure highest level of availability, reliability and performance for virtualization platforms and associated

products

Install upgrades and patches for VMware, Citrix, Microsoft and other products

Define comprehensive automation for VMware and Citrix.

Work with the architecture teams to translate high level business requirements into technical designs

and practical solutions

Provide 3rd level software and problem diagnosis together with our customer care team

Develop best practices with respect to process and documentation/templates

Transfer knowledge to other team members and share new ideas to improve company products or processes
