Job Description

The Senior Manager, Technology provides technical leadership throughout the lifecycle of a project, including direction on systems architecture, reuse, and development processes. This role is responsible for guiding the design, user interface, and technology integration of projects and interfacing with client technology and management teams. Will also bring their expected to research and inform on enterprise-wide trends.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize deep understanding of package solutions and recommend when appropriate
• Translate the clients business requirements into systems design
• Understand the steps required to deploy an application
• Actively work with the account team to establish strategy for the account
• Establish high, mid and micro level plans for project teams
• Independently lead the estimation effort for a project
• Identify and manage risk on project

Required skills and experience

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field required
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in enterprise architecture, systems integration, package
• implementation, and/or interactive design, and Architecture experience
• Prior experience in a consulting firm and Capital Markets required
• Experience with NIO, JDBC, Multi-threading
• Experience with message processing/streaming desirable
• Experience with performance tuning Java-based applications desirable
• Experience with JPROBE or JPROFILER, JUNIT a plus
• Database programming skills in Oracle a plus
• Experience with JMX a plus
• Proficient in UML, OOAD
• Ability to abstract detail into larger (repeatable) patterns, familiarity with user-centered analysis and evaluation techniques
• Experience providing a vision of the total solution, managing a track of work and defining a comprehensive solution leading toward a common vision
• Proven leadership and managerial skills to independently manage 30+ people, during multiple phases of the project lifecycle
• Understanding of the project life cycle process to effectively be able to manage a sub-team through the complexities of the business solution
• Openness to frequent overnight travel
