for a European style bakery specializing in artisan bread production and fine pastries. The bakery supplies well over 100 different accounts including fine dinning restaurants and high end hotels in the market as well as a 5000 square foot retail space in Midtown Manhattan. This is large scale production with over 300 items in the product line of baked goods and pastriesThere is a staff of some 15 to 20 bakers, mixers and bench hands as well as a sales staff and delivery service.The Head Baker is responsible for the quality of product, creativity and all production for all accounts. A minimum of Four to five years experience as a baker, head baker or Master Baker with a culinary degree in a successful producrtion bakery for either a fine dinning group or high end hotel chain. Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills required. You will be involved in hiring, food costing, setting up all procedures, staffing and building this location from scratch. This is an incredible opportunity with unlimited potential here in NYC.
You will also travel overseas for training for 2 weeks to see their other operations. This is a new project from the ground-up here in Manhattan for a very successful foreign bakery that is opening a large storefront in Midtown Manhattan.
