Job Title:                             Point of Sale Project Manager


  

SUMMARY


Project manager for the effort to replace Point of Sale software platform for includes working closely with consultants and new platform provider, coordination of project tasks and deliverables across project.  Will assume ownership and accountability for project management of this effort, and ongoing responsibility as a team member of the Store Systems group. The candidate must be able to engage with Store Operations, Merchandising Teams, and other Technology teams including Help Desk to work collaboratively with external vendors to drive to a successful implementation. The person must understand the project life cycle and all aspects of delivery including requirements, design, development and testing. The person also plays a pivotal role in driving stakeholder engagement and leadership alignment though communication.


Must be comfortable in the technical space, as well as the business community. The individual must have previous Point of Sale site experience and a proven track record for implementing effective strategies. The person must be well versed in point of sale technology. The candidate must be well spoken and articulate and should have the ability to stay calm under pressure

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


               Provide an environment of collaboration and partnership within the vendor,  IT team as well as the business community.

               Provide a strong degree of business functional knowledge to help guide implementation of required deliverables.

               Facilitate the decision making process  and make strategic and tactical staffing recommendations to sponsors

               Develop and maintain full project plan and task dependencies

               Work with the Vendor, Consulting Team and Store Systems teams to insure tasks are completing on time and on budget

               Responsible for maintaining the product delivery roadmap, all individual project plans and ensure that project management best practices (scope, planning, execution, control) are applied accurately to deliver on time and on budget

               Responsible for determining and communicating process and procedures

               Manage project communication including IT Management, Store Operations Team,  POS Vendor and POS Consulting Group

               Must have a clear understanding of the technology to insure implementation of requirements are scalable, and performing to high level

               IT knowledge and capability




 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


               Five years of total experience in Store Systems

               Proven track record successfully developing and implementing technology solutions

               Strong project management skills required

               Retail experience required

               Experience working with store level systems

               Extensive knowledge of POS software and tools

               Financial acumen is required

               Self-motivated problem solver with the proven ability to project manage and collaborate with remote teams

               Excellent interpersonal skills.  Ability to work across various cultural dynamics and develop effective working relationships with colleagues and clients across different geographies

               Undergraduate degree required.

 

COMMUNICATION SKILLS


Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.  Ability to project plans, write reports, business correspondence, and business or technical updates.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors and corporate employees.
