RN - Director of Nursing (DON) - Skilled Nursing

Locations Available:  Bloomfield Hills, Whitehall, Plymouth, and Kalamazoo 

We have an immediate need for experienced DON's (Director of Nursing) for several Skilled Nursing Facilities in Michigan. The ideal candidate will have recent experience as DON or ADON in an acute care or long term care / skilled nursing center.

This center provides 24-hour nursing care as well as physical, occupational and speech therapy service to a broad spectrum of patients. In addition to skilled nursing and rehabilitation services, they offer therapeutic recreation and social activities.

Some of the center’s specialty areas include: Orthopedic care including joint replacement, injuries and amputation; Cardiac care; I.V. therapy; Wound care; Stroke and neurological care; Trach care; Wii Therapy; Ambulation and gait training; Special diets; Respite or vacation care; Diabetes management; and Hospice care.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Nursing Services (DON) works in concert with the Administrator and directs the Nursing Department to maintain quality standards of care in accordance with current Federal, State and Company standards, guidelines and regulations. In absence of the Administrator, assumes the responsibility for center operations.

The Director of Nursing Services (DON) conducts the nursing process - assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation - under the scope of the State's Nurse Practice Act of Registered Nurse licensure.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Five years of experience as a DON or ADON in long-term or acute health care preferred.

 

Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) strongly preferred.

 

At least 2 years nursing supervisory experience required.
Must be licensed as RN in this state.

 

Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing required

 

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
