The Web Engineer is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of applications including development methods and standards and using formal development frameworks. The applications will include both web applications, as well as mobile web browser based applications. The main function of the Web Engineer is to assist in the development of applications and systems using PHP, Symfony, Memcached, Sencha Touch (mobile application framework) and MySQL as directed. |

RESPONSIBILITIES: |
|
·Assist in the design and development of our primary Social Networking Web site, and mobile browser based applications. ·Perform troubleshooting as required; ·Optimization, tuning, replication, distribution, and normalization of the architectures; ·Assist in the design and analysis of candidate applications and software solutions; ·Testing (unit and integration), diagnosing, and fixing faults in all in-house and vendor software ·Document systems, applications, and methodologies; ·Act as third tier support for resolution of production site issues;

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: |
|
·BS or MS degree in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent experience;
|
|
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: |
|
·Extensive knowledge and experience with PHP(at least 5 years); ·Ability to learn new technologies and integrate them effectively into the organization; ·Large scale applications (greater than 1 million users); ·Ability to communicate technical information effectively; ·Experience with developing and maintaining highly available or fault-tolerant software systems across the full application lifecycle; ·Nice to have someone with several years of experience in back-end billing/payment processing systems.

KNOWLEDGE OF: |
|
·Extensive knowledge of PHP using a development framework such as Symfony, MySQL, Linux, and Apache ; ·Experience with javascript and bonus if experience with Sencha Touch mobile development framework. ·Extensive experience in a Unix environment; ·Extensive experience with MySQL database architecture and design; ·Demonstrable knowledge of computer science fundamentals; ·Experience with Web Services / REST a plus; ·Experience with Python a plus; ·Experience with Memcached a big plus; |
