Qualifications
Bachelor Degree or Higher in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
10+ of experience in the Chemical, Petrochemical, Refining or other related industries.
Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and/or managing preventative, predictive and risk based maintenance programs as part of implementing an Asset Reliability Culture.
Demonstrated working knowledge of ASME, API, ANSI and AWS standards.
Demonstrates working knowledge of appropriate OSHA Process Safety Management Elements.
Thorough understanding of chemical manufacturing equipment.
Experience in leading multi-functional teams.
High performance change agent.
Strong experience in strategic and tactical planning and implementation.
Experience in leading Root Cause Investigations to identify root causes and identifying appropriate corrective actions.
Batch Chemical Maintenance experience a plus.
Experience leading in a union environment desired.
Demonstrated experience in Lean Six Sigma desired
Knowledge of SAP and/or MAXIMO maintenance management systems desired
Summary
Member of the Plant‘s Leadership Team located in the Houston Area reporting to the Plant Manager and has accountability along with the other members of the leadership team for the overall HSE compliant, reliable and profitable operation of the plant.
Leads the Plant‘s Maintenance Team in ensuring the reliability and integrity of the plant’s assets through the development and implementation of an Asset Reliability Culture while providing expert advice and driving performance improvement.
Directs the activities of the resident maintenance contractor consisting of 20 – 40 contractors, in addition to managing the contract, and manages 7 direct headcounts.
Ensures plant is in compliance with appropriate regulatory requirements including but not limited to OSHA Process Safety Management.
Services as principle liaison with and coordinates contract maintenance activities.
Oversees and supervises maintenance staff.
Develops and implements preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance and risk based maintenance programs as required including appropriate documentation and training.
Ensures all plant equipment, utilities, buildings and grounds, instrumentation, fire and safety systems are in reliable working order.
Responsible for the integrity of all plant assets.
Develops and Manages the Plant‘s Maintenance and Utility budgets in excess of $3.5MM per year.
Utilize RCA techniques to eliminate asset failures through root cause identification and implementation of corrective actions.
Ensures all maintenance activities are completed on schedule and validate quality of work.
Develops and implements continuous improvement opportunities.
Manages the maintenance and reliability data systems (SAP and MAXIMO).
