About the Job

Our client has a requirement for a Senior Infrastructure for a six month contract opportunity. The position is located in Mississauga, ON.

Role

The role will provide senior infrastructure architecture leadership and enterprise level consulting to the organization on the development of a quality, integrated and rationalized infrastructure environment across the company.

The primary focus will be to work with the Organization's Retail Solution Architects to provide infrastructure solutions for business projects. Specific knowledge and focus on the Financial Services retail line of business is preferred for this opportunity.

Responsibilities

Key accountabilities will be the creation of enterprise infrastructure architecture strategies, blueprints and standards required to define the roadmap of change for the retail infrastructure, supported by established governance processes to ensure compliance.

The candidate must possess excellent communication and influencing skills to interact with Senior Executives, Solution Design, Operations and Solution Support functions, thus ensuring that objectives are clearly defined, infrastructure options articulated and the overall target infrastructure provides a robust and comprehensive platform for the business going forward.

Requirements or Qualifications

Qualified Candidates will have:

• Knowledge of concepts, philosophies and tools behind the design of applications, information and underlying information technologies,
• Thorough knowledge of the organization's IT environment including vendor software and relationships,
• Specific knowledge of Financial Services retail line of business and understanding of strategic direction in that business area
• Proven experience in modernizing host legacy based applications into a JAVA-based distributed application stack.
• WebSphere Application Server
• Knowledge in infrastructure technologies/domains including:

- broad mainframe skills (Z/OS, IMS/TM, IMS DB, DB2)--there is a significant suite of core retail applications resident on the mainframe,

- WebSphere Application Server

- WebSphere ESB

- Pega

- Filenet

- Datapower

- AIX/System P

- Data Warehouse and BI

- Storage

- Security

- Development tooling (client wishes to create a software factory environment)

- Automated provisioning

• Possess excellent communication and presentation skills, demonstrating an ability to interact effectively with both technical experts and senior executives
