Supplier Quality Specialist (closed)
Our client, an EPC company supporting the Oil & Gas industry, is seeking a Supplier Quality Specialist to join their team on a permanent basis. This position is responsible for administering supplier quality activities including capability surveys, audits and area/shop quality surveillance. Responsibilities also include supervising agency personnel, reviewing specifications, reviewing and distributing quality surveillance reports, communicating project direction and coordination between project and supplier quality representatives.
Responsibilities Include:
- Plan and administer project Quality Surveillance plans (usually issued as a Job Instructions)
- Coordinate Supplier Quality services with other project functions
- Provide technical support for engineering and procurement activities
- Prepare & monitor project Supplier Quality cost of services including job hour & monetary budgets
- Prepare and issue assignments for surveys, audits and quality surveillance per project requirements or requests
- Investigate quality issues reported to on equipment/materials where quality surveillance has been performed or upon request
- Review, edit, accept and distribute reports in accordance with this Manual and Project Procedures
- Record reported quality issues in the Supplier Performance Database (SPD) or Supplier Ranking System (SRS)
- Provide project direction to deployed Supplier Quality Representatives
- Participate in bidder pre-award activities and initial or other supplier visits as appropriate
- Monitor and report quality metrics established by the Supplier Quality Supervisor or Project
- Notify the PPM and responsible project personnel of any significant problems and initiate timely follow-up
- Prepare and/or squad check Quality Surveillance Plans (QSPs) with Engineering
- Squad check supplier Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) or other documents such as procedures
- Maintain a “Supplier Quality Log” detailing the assignments, reports, job hours and other relevant information
Qualifications Include:
- Technologist with applicable QA/QC training
- Experience in the construction, fabrication and/or manufacturing of petrochemical equipment and facilities
- Experienced on EPC Projects
- Certifications in ASET, CWB or API preferred
- Knowledge of corporate policies, job instructions, and Procurement procedures
- Knowledge of interface relationships with functional groups such as Engineering, Construction, Project Management, and other project service departments
- Proficiency in the evaluation of technical competency of Supplier Quality personnel
- Training or experience in procurement and business administration, corporate leadership and process improvement initiatives, as well as the legal aspects of procurement
- Knowledge of major suppliers of equipment and materials used on petrochemical projects
- Proficient in policy planning, job-hour and monetary budgeting, personnel selection and development, performance evaluation, and counselling
- Possesses multi-project EPC experience, varying in complexity and scope
- Knowledge of QA/QC requirements including ABSA, ASME, CWB, ISO, etc.
- Strong computer skills exhibiting proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, D Base Systems and Internet Use
