Our client, located in New York, NY is seeking a Java Developer / Engineer for an immediate contract position.  Details include:

RESPONSIBILITIES

-Leading and participating in the analysis, design and development of client/server business applications

-Developing client/server applications with a REST services backend

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS

-4+ years experience with Java, including knowledge of Object Oriented Programming fundamentals

-4 years Object-Oriented programming languages such as Java, C++, Objective-C, Flex, Flex Builder 3, or ActionScript 3

-Strong expertise with J2EE for server-side development including communication with back-end databases.

-Strong object-oriented design and development with relationship to UI (User Interface) development

-Experience with creating and consuming web services including REST and SOAP required

SECONDARY REQUIREMENTS

-Familiarity with client-side web technologies (JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, XML)

-Knowledge of MVC Frameworks such as Spring or Struts.

-Experience with caching solutions for high-traffic websites a plus

-Experience working on consumer facing web sites

-Experience working with NoSQL databases a plus (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.)

-Good RDBMS / SQL knowledge including the ability to author queries / views / stored procedures, and to analyze query performance required

-Hibernate, iBATIS, or other Object/Relational mapping experience is a plus

-BS in CS, EE or equivalent experience required
