Scope of work: Drive design of data structures

Reverse engineer source system structures for model sourcing

Create Conceptual/Logical/Physical models for staging and data integration

Model management and version control of data models.

Facilitate creation/migration of data objects (DDL) across Development /QA/Production

Provide hands-on data modeling / development support for a variety of assignments and have a quick grasp of new business environments

Conduct Model reviews with project team members

Support Data QA activities

Work with IT application staff to define source-to-target mappings

Play an active role on data analysis and QA activities

Required skills/competencies:

Must have an in-depth understanding of OLTP and Data Warehouse modeling concepts

In-depth understanding of the Data Life Cycle data modeling concept and principles

Experience storing metadata/data dictionaries within formal modeling tool

5+ years working as data modeler

5+ years working using data modeling tools such as ERWIN or ER Studio, or Rational Data Architect supporting IT development projects

5+ years of SQL experience

Must have in-depth experience on at least one major RDBMS platform (DB2, Oracle, or SQL Server)

Must be able to work independently or as part of a team to develop the required solution

Excellent written and verbal communications skills will be required for customer and team interaction

Strong organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with IT development teams in an agile environment

ERWIN experience a plus

DB2 and Oracle experience a plus

Familiarity with integration tools such as Informatica a plus

Familiarity with BI tools such as Hyperion Reporting, Essbase and OBI a plus

Data Modeling Skills:

OLTP and Data Warehouse Modeling

Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Models

Entity Level, Primary Key Level, Fully Attributed 3rd Normal Level

Warehouse: Normalized, Atomic Historical Grain, Generalized; Staging, ODS and Warehouse

Star Schema Data Mart: Conformed Dimensions and Fact Tables
