Job Description

Production Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer - Aerospace

The Nut Cell requires an innovative and enthusiastic Engineer to assist with the running of the Cell.  This role will be reporting to the Cell Manager; this position will be responsible for supporting the following duties:

  • To work with Management, Production operators and engineering team to significantly improve efficiencies in the section, aiming to achieve “right first time, every time” standards of quality and delivery
  • To project manage the installation of new machinery and equipment with minimum disruption to  everyday work
  • To take ownership of Quality Improvement Processes relating to the section, in line with the Company standards and procedures
  • To design and order new tooling and supplies as required
  • Implementing cost saving exercises actively pursues and encourages cost savings
  • Co-ordinating set-up time reduction projects
  • Personally challenge fixed ideas, current methods and look for ways to make improvement via improvement plan
  • To provide engineering assistance to resolve tooling production problems
  • To accept responsibility for new products, processes or projects as required
  • Continual communication with the Cell Manager to ensure that the bottleneck machines maintain maximum availability

 Knowledge, Skill and Experience of Production / Manufacturing Engineer

  • Good academic background – HNC qualified
  • A knowledge of aerospace industry is preferred
  • Must be computer literate and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication Skills
  • Full Product and Area training will be given to the successful candidate

 Production Engineer position details

  • Salary of £25,000 to £28,000 depend on experience
  • The Shift Pattern for this role will be Monday – Thursday: 7.30 am - 4.00pm and Friday: 7.30am – 12.30pm
  • Quarterly bonus, paid after 6 months
  • 25 + 8 bank holidays
  • Matched up to 5% pension scheme
