Responsible for solid model design work supporting engineering staff on projects under the

direction of a Staff Engineer or Project Manager. Tasking may include: preparing engineering

drawings, layout and detailed design of mechanical systems using solid modeling techniques,

managing complex models using multiple designers, and interfacing with designers / draftsman

for the production of fabrication drawings. With minimal instructions prepares sketches, or

complete layout and detailed drawings, for complex equipment or mechanisms. Performs

independent, original designs. Can check technical accuracy and completeness of all drafting.

 Position Requirements:

Education: Associate Degree in related engineering field, or equivalent work experience;

undergraduate degree preferred. Formal Training in use of SolidWorks, solid

modeling software and SolidWorks Advanced Assemblies certificate preferred.

Experience: Ten years experience working with Mil Standards and geometric tolerance ANSI

14.5. Experience in all phases of documentation, machine shop, manufacturing

and structural design. Proficiency using software such as AutoCAD and

SolidWorks required. Computer skills using Microsoft Office products required.

Technical writing skills are helpful.

Knowledge: Possesses ability to work independently developing original designs or

modifications. Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of CAD equipment.

Familiar with military specifications. Good verbal and interpersonal skills

necessary to effectively communicate with vendors and Customers
