An established and very well respected medical communications agency is now looking for a Senior Medical Writer to join their editorial team on a permanent basis. The company which was set up in the early 80’s and is continuing to grow can boast all of the top five pharmaceutical companies among their clients and are currently working with them on some very exciting first in class, blockbuster products. They are a very dynamic company and as such are looking for a dynamic senior writer.

As a senior medical writer you will be expected to research, write (from brief and outline through to finished product), edit and proof copy to the highest standard (scientific and grammatical) for a full range of educational materials and target audiences. There will also be an aspect of mentoring and managing more junior members of staff, contributing to their training when required.

Other key requirements of this role include leading the editorial development and coordinating the implementation of client communication programmes with a focus on key messages, content and overall quality of all materials.  Together with relevant colleagues in the business units, the successful candidate will provide both tactical and strategic contribution helping to build client and KOL advocacy and helping the agency’s clients fulfil their marketing and strategic objectives. This will include writing and input into a wide range of printed and multimedia materials along with mentoring of junior writers within the project team. For certain programmes the successful candidate will be the primary editorial contact helping to develop and implement strategic medical communications in close collaboration with the client and client servicing teams.

Due to the nature of this role the agency requires suitable candidates to have a PhD in life or physical sciences, preferably with some post doctoral research experience.
