 Sr. ETL Software Developer  (Datastage Pref.)

 Nielsen is looking for a data warehousing professional with excellent understanding of the ETL process to join the Global Platform Solutions team. As a part of the GPS team you will be an integral part of a high energy team that is revolutionizing the way that Nielsen delivers value to both its customers and to Nielsen.  

 This position is responsible for independently analyzing, developing, testing, and supporting highly complex application software.  This Sr. Developer will also be responsible for leading and mentoring junior developers, and coordinate activities with the development team. These software applications must be independently developed and maintained ensuring high-quality standards with minimal defects.  The ideal candidate will follow IT standard processes for securing application and components to ensure data and application integrity in our Answers™ On-Demand environment.  Answer is an intuitive, web based, Business Intelligence solution that empowers users to gain market insights, share information, and take action to drive profitable results.

 Technical Skills

1.       3-5 years of experience in data warehousing area with excellent  understanding of ETL process.

2.       2-3 years of experience with DataStage development

3.       2 year’s experience with scripting (Shell) and SQL

4.       Experience with SDLC methodology

Soft Skills

1.       Should be able to work independently and in a team as needed.

2.       Should be able to communicate effectively to the management.

3.       Should escalate issues and concerns in a timely manner.

4.       Should take up ownership & accountability of tasks assigned and report on their progress.
